Common Elements

The format of scholarship exams differ between test providers and year level, however there are common elements requiring students to have a strong grasp of skills and higher order thinking. They include mathematics, comprehension and writing.

Mathematical questions included require good skills but also an understanding of how those skills can apply to concepts and problem solving.

Inferential reading is also common to all exams however the format of these types of questions can differ. One format that is common to all is reading comprehension, however another format includes humanities type questions.

Writing is common to all formats however some include both creative and opinion writing, others present only one of those which can differ from school to school and another format includes only creative writing. if you are only participating in Edutest test then you need only prepare for creagive writing but always be aware that it can change.

Specific elements include subjects such as numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning and abstract reasoning.
