The average number of attempts by students for all online tests is 2.35. Improvement overall is positive and the graph below shows more specific results for students preparing for entry into selective high schools such as Melbourne High.

Students can improve their performance in scholarship and select entry tests by gaining familiarity with test questions. On the Brainworks website students from year 4 to 9 have completed nearly 150,000 tests across a range of subjects including numerical, verbal and abstract reasoning, mathematics and comprehension. The graph below indicates the average improvement for a subject across all students who have completed a second attempt for a particular test.
